Step 5: Closing on Your House

The big day is here! Your homebuilding journey is finally coming to an end with the final two steps, the Final Walkthrough and Closing.

What is Closing?

At closing, you'll make any outstanding payments for the property, the lender will fund your loan, and we will transfer title into your name.

Who will contact me about Closing?

Our Title Company will reach out to you about closing. They will coordinate the closing for you, your lender, and the DoubleRock team. While we will make sure the house is ready for closing, your lender will set the actual closing date, and they will communicate this with you directly.

Are Closing Dates guaranteed?

Because of the significant impact of weather on our construction schedule, our Closing Dates are estimated. However, once we complete the interior of the home (about one month before the closing) we can be more precise on the exact closing date. The vast majority of our homes close on their contractual date, but weather happens, and it's good to keep in mind that the date may change.

When can I see my house?

Right before closing, you will also have opportunity for a Final Walkthrough with your superintendent. During this walkthrough, you will be able to point out any concerns with the house that may need to be addressed prior to closing. Please note that you will only be able to walk your house once before closing; any additional walkthroughs will delay your closing.
